REGAL SPONDYLUS – SPONDYLUS REGIUS

This shell is large and has long and short spines. Numerous ridges lie between the spines. The shell is a regal red and the spines ivory white.

This shell has been prized by the prehistoric Europeans, indigenous peoples of South America and collectors for centuries.
